2K Games and Visual Concepts will release a demo for NBA 2K21 on August 24 for the Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
NBA 2K21
This news comes to us thanks to an official blog post on nba.2k.com. If you want to check out everything in the post, just follow the link.
The good news for NBA 2K fans is that you won’t have to wait long to try out this years game for yourselves. Unfortunately, we have no information regarding what exactly the demo will contain. Hopefully 2K will release more info on that soon.
However, the blog post did give us some insight into what changes we can expect with this years title. 2K are promising an overhaul of both the dribbling and shooting systems with The Pro Stick. In addition to the gameplay changes, NBA 2K21 aims to be both accessible to newcomers and also offer veterans a deep and satisfying experience when the game hits the shop shelves in September.
Bad Press
NBA 2K21 has had a bit of bad press recently, and rightly so in my opinion. The next gen version will set you back $69.99 when it hits retail. The current gen game for the PS4 and Xbox One will still be priced at the standard rate of $59.99.
What makes matters worse is the fact that if you buy 2K21 on September 4 for current gen systems. You’ll then have to buy it again if you want to play it on the Xbox Series X or PS5. There is no free upgrade here, no use of a Smart Delivery type mechanism.
However, there will be a Mamba Forever Edition. A tribute to the late, great Kobe Bryant, which will include a digital copy of the next gen game. Although, this will set you back $99.99. NBA 2K21 is due out on September 4.
But what do you think? Are you looking forward to the demo? Will you be picking it up when it releases? Or will you be holding off until the next gen version arrives? Please feel free to leave any thoughts you have in the comments below.
