Microsoft have shared some of the facts and figures surrounding the launch of both the Series X and S. And no, you won’t find any actual sales numbers here for both machines. First up, November seen Xbox Game Pass monthly engagement double compared to November last year. This could mean that subscriptions are up thanks to new players joining the Xbox ecosystem. And speaking of new players, over 40% of new players on Xbox are playing on the Xbox Series S.

We also find out that Smart Delivery has delivered over 1.6 billion upgrades to folks who bought a Series X or S. Smart Delivery is turning out to be a real gem in the Xbox armoury. Take Gears 5 for example, all you have to do is put the Xbox One disc into your shinny new Series X and Smart Delivery takes care of all the next gen upgrades for you.

Although the Series X|S launched in 40 regions worldwide it was Europe which saw the biggest increase in sales with the new consoles selling out in a matter of hours in the UK, France and Germany.

In total, Xbox players played billions of hours on their new machines in November. Those billions of hours are spread across an incredible 3,800 titles. This is the beauty of Microsoft’s backwards compatibility strategy. From day one players already had thousands of games to play across four generations of Xbox consoles.

By all accounts the launch of the Series X|S has being a massive success for Microsoft. Both machines sold out in record time around the globe and as you can see from the information above, engagement has never being higher. The future is looking very bright for those on team green.
