Leaked Controller Packaging Confirms Xbox Series S Console

The Xbox Series S or Loochart has seemingly been confirmed thanks to packaging on a recently purchased Xbox controller.

Series S

Twitter user Zak S was able to purchase the controller second hand from a site called OfferUp. As you can see from the Tweet below, the controller is definitely for the next gen Xbox consoles. As the Share button is right smack bang in the middle of it. There is of course no Share button on the current Xbox controllers.

Having an actual Xbox Series X controller out in the wild is curious enough, especially since the launch is still a few months away. However, what’s even more interesting than the controller is the packaging that it comes in.

As you see from the picture below, the controller is compatible with the Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Windows 10, Android and IOS. Although a cheaper next gen console has been heavily rumoured for sometime now. Microsoft have not yet announced the Xbox Series S or made any mention of it at all. All the focus has been on the Series X.

Rumours

So the Xbox Series S now looks to be very real. However, we still have no idea what the actual console will look like. Some folks think that it’ll resemble the Series X but smaller. Personally, I think it’ll probably be shaped like a more traditional console. It’ll resemble the One X more than the Series X.

Power wise, the Xbox Series S will allegedly have a four TeraFlop GPU, but that will be paired with the same CPU found in the Series X. Other rumours also suggest that it will come without a disc drive and be a digital only machine. Hopefully though, we won’t have to wait long to find out as the Series S might be officially revealed later this month.

What do you think? Which machine will you be buying later this year? Do you think Microsoft are doing the right thing by releasing two consoles? Please feel free to leave any thoughts you have in the comments below.
