Anthem Fixes Inbound For This Weekends Open Trial

In a recent blog post, Chad Robertson, who is head of live service at BioWare, has reassured fans that fixes are inbound for this weekends Anthem open trial.

“It was an eventful VIP Demo weekend for BioWare. As I shared on Saturday, it started rocky, but we stabilized that afternoon and maintained it until we turned servers off Sunday evening. We learned a ton about our game, our service, and you, our community. We’re working hard to ensure everyone can enjoy the game exactly as we’ve designed it.”

Last weekends VIP trial got off to the worst possible start as the servers pretty much collapsed the moment the demo went live.

The VIP trial, which lasted for around ten hours and spanned three days, was plagued by bugs and performance issues from the get go. And although fans had a lot of fun playing around with their Javelins. The feeling from most is that the demo could of been a lot better and a lot more stable.

Thankfully Bioware are listening and a raft of bug fixes and performance issues should be making their way to the open demo this weekend. These fixes include.

Entitlement bugs
-Server performance updates to address much of the rubber-banding
-Fixes for infinite loads and more being investigated
-Platform bugs to validate Javelin unlocks
-Client and platform login bugs

Hopefully these fixes make all the difference. Anthem looks like it could be a massive success for BioWare. After the debacle that was Mass Effect: Andromeda, BioWare need a win, they need to get gamers back on side. A smooth running open Anthem demo, which kicks off this Friday and finishes Sunday, might help in that cause.

Did you pre-ordered Anthem and take place in last week’s VIP demo. Or are you holding out for this weekend to see what all the fuss is about. Please feel free to leave any thoughts you have in the comments below.
