Project xCloud Adds The Sims 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition and Unravel 2

Project xCloud is the new game streaming service from Microsoft. It allows you to play dozens of Xbox One games on compatible Android and IOS devices.

EA has finally joined the Project xCloud party. Yesterday, during the latest Inside Xbox event(follow the link to discover everything that was revealed), Microsoft announced that The Sims 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition and Unravel Two will be added to the Project xCloud lineup.

New Games

The Sims 4

The Sims 4 was released back in September 2014 on PC. It only came to the Xbox One and PS4 in November 2017. It was developed by Maxis and of course published by EA. Everyone knows what the Sims games are all about at this stage. Create a Sim and guide them on a journey through life however you see fit.

The Sims 4 was met with mixed reviews when it came out, with the biggest complaint been leveled against it was its lack of content. Since then several expansions have being added and The Sims remains as popular today as it did when it first came out in February 2000. The franchise has sold over 200 million copies worldwide.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Dragon Age: Inquisition was developed by Bioware and released in November 2014. Inquisition is an action role playing game and the third installment in the Dragon Age series. The game was very well received upon release, with most of the gaming press praising it for its mature nature.

Inquisition features beautifully detailed environments. The story is well crafted, and a lot attention has gone into its characters. The game has also been highly praised for its smart combat and excellent voice acting.

Unravel Two

Unravel Two was developed by Coldwood Interactive from Sweden. It was released in June 2018 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The Switch version didn’t arrive till March the following year.

Unravel Two is a puzzle platform game, it can be played in both single player and in local co-op. You play as Yarnys, these are characters that are made from yarn. Like the original, Unravel Two has received a lot of respect for been a fun, but also at times a challenging platforming game.

Expansion

As well as these new games being added to the lineup, Microsoft also announced that xCloud would be coming to 11 more European countries. Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden will soon be able to join the action. Unfortunately no date was given, as the roll-out to these new countries will have take bandwidth restrictions into account due to Covid-19.

Project xCloud is currently available on both Android and IOS compatible devices. On Android there are currently over 50 games to play. On IOS, only Halo: The Master Chief Collection is playable. Unfortunately, Apple has way more restrictions in place when it comes to these kind of Apps in their store.
