Ubisoft Is About To Enter The Battle Royale Genre With Hyper Scape
Ubisoft is about to enter the Battle Royale genre with its new free to play FPS game Hyper Scape.
Hyper Scape
Earlier today Ubisoft revealed their new free to play Battle Royale game Hyper Scape. The game is set for a closed Beta next week on PC with an open Beta planned for July 12. A console version will also be coming later this year and it will feature cross-play.
Hyper Scape is a FPS set in the fictional city of Neo Arcadia and will feature close Twitch integration. Unfortunately, that’s about as much as we know at this moment in time. Thankfully, Ubisoft plan to share more news regarding their new Battle Royale shooter on July 2. So not to long to wait.
News of the game broke earlier today when some streamers shared pictures of the game on social media before bizarrely taking them down again. A big shout out has to go to Kevin Sebastian for providing us with all the information in his Tweet below.
Thankfully though, the game is now officially announced and Ubisoft have even created a website detailing the games lore. You can also sign up for the Beta on the site if you so desire. You can check out the website here.
Overcrowded
So we have another Battle Royale game to look forward to. Ubisoft may have big plans for Hyper Scape but it is going to face some pretty strong opposition straight out of the gate.
Warzone, PUBG, Apex Legends and Fortnite all have a dedicated and passionate following. Ubisoft will have to do something different with Hyper Scape for it to stand out. I know they are promising very close Twitch integration but will that be enough, only time will tell but the Battle Royale genre is already becoming overcrowded in my opinion.
But what to you think? Will you be giving Hyper Scape a blast when it finally hits consoles? Do you think the world needs another free to play Battle Royale game? Please feel free to leave any thoughts you have in the comments below.
