Faithful

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s books rather than Peter Jackson’s film trilogy. Although, Gollum himself, does looks very similar to his film counterpart.

The action-adventure that tells the story of Gollumâ„¢ from a perspective never witnessed before in any storytelling media, all the while staying faithful to the legendary books of J.R.R. Tolkien.

While the images certainly have a cartoony look to them, they are still packed with detail. Also, in any stealth game worth its salt, lighting and the use of shadows always plays a vital role. Even in the select screenshots I’ve used here, you can see that the game world will be littered with dark places for Gollum to run and hide in.

As I said at the top, this is a next gen game, and even though the game is still a year away, I’m excited by any new footage or screenshots that can shed some light on what we can expect to see when we finally get our hands on Sony’s and Microsoft’s new machines.

But what do you think of the first Lord of the Rings: Gollum screenshots? Were you expecting a more serious tone or are you happy with the art style that Daedalic has taken? Please feel free to leave any thoughts you have in the comments below.
