“Full Blown” Version Of Cyberpunk 2077 Coming To Xbox Series X
A “full blown” version of Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to the Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, no date has being given for when the upgraded version will arrive on Microsoft’s next gen system, but it certainly won’t be available at launch. Thankfully though, it’ll be free to everyone that already owns the game on the Xbox One.
Upgrade
During an earnings call this week. CD Projekt’s SVP of business development Michal Nowakowski stated that a full blown next gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming to the Xbox Series X sometime after launch. This news comes to thanks to the folks over at videogameschronicle.com. Follow the link to check out their full piece on this news. Here’s a snippet of what Nowakowski had to say during the call.
“However, when it comes to a proper, full-blown next-gen version, that’s going to come later, we haven’t announced when and I don’t have a new comment here on that.
Smart Delivery
The really good news for Xbox One owners is that the upgraded version will be free of charge. CD Projekt stated in a Tweet back in February that they would be taking full advantage of Microsoft’s Smart Delivery service. Basically this means that you can buy Cyberpunk at launch for the Xbox One. And later, when the Series X comes out, the copy of the game you’ve already purchased, will work on that system too.
Cyberpunk 2077 was initially due out this month but the game was pushed back till September so that extra polish could be added. It is already shaping up to be a certain Game of The Year contender. It looks sublime and CD Projekt have a rich tradition of delivering top notch gaming experiences. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is testimony to that.
Are you planning on picking up Cyberpunk 2077 when it launches on the 17th of September? What do think of Microsoft’s Smart Delivery service? Please let me know any thoughts you have in the comments below.
