F1 2016
Great news for all F1 fans out there, Codemasters have officially announced that F1 2016 is set to be released later this summer on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
So what can we expect to see in this years title? Well Codemasters have promised that this year it is going to put the career mode front and centre, their aim is take the player deeper into the world of an F1 driver both on and off the track. The career mode can last up to ten years, you'll first create your F1 avatar and from there you will get to choose from which one of the current 11 F1 teams you want to drive for. Keep in mind though, you might want to start out in the best car but the bigger teams will put bigger goals on your shoulders for you to deal with, driving for Mercedes for example will more than likely require you to qualify on the front row for most races and finish on the podium. While driving for a team at the back of the grid might provide you with easier targets, like maybe only out doing your team mate in qualify and in the race itself.
F1 2016 will include the new F1 street circuit in Baku, the Safety Car will also make a comeback and we'll get to see the new Virtual Safety Car in action too in this years title, more improvements will also be made to the development side of things, greater control will be given to the player to choose the design path of their F1 car. On the announcement of the game, Lee Mather, Principal Games Designer at Codemasters had the following to say.
F1 2016 is a massive step forward for the franchise. The new career mode sits at the heart of the game and allows gamers to create their own legend over a career that can span for up to a massive ten seasons.
Beyond improving upon the fastest and most thrilling on-track racing experience in gaming, F1 2016 uniquely offers the drama and vehicle development that goes on behind the scenes. A rich car upgrade system is fully integrated into a new and deep practice development programme which mirrors the tests carried out by the teams in real life.
I'm a big fan of racing games and F1 racing games are my favourite ones to play. F1 2015 is a great game, it demands precision while driving and it gives the player a fantastic sense of power and grip when blasting around some of the best race tracks in the world. If F1 2016 can build on lasts years game they are on to another winner. F1 might not be for everyone, but for me F1 racing games are some of the best driving games made on consoles, I like Forza and Gran Turismo as well, but for me, they just don't offer the same thrill of racing that F1 games do. Looking forward to this already.
