Cross-Play In World War Z Arrives Monday
The third and final update for season two arrives on Monday March 23rd. Without question the biggest feature coming with this update is cross-play in World War Z between Xbox and PC.
We still have no mention of when PS4 players can join in on the fun but hopefully they won’t have to wait too much longer as Saber Interactive’s zombie co-op shooter approaches its first birthday.
Xbox and PC players will be able to play together in both the Story and Horde modes. Basically the PvE modes. Unfortunately they won’t have the option to create any cross-platform parties or be able to invite players from other platforms. Cross-play works by putting both Xbox and PC players together in the same unified matchmaking pool and randomly teaming up players from there.
Next weeks update to World War Z also brings a few other free tweaks to the game. There will be new weapon variants for everyone, along with new mission objectives for the main game. There will also be paid for DLC in the form of new character skins.
That pretty much covers next weeks update WWZ fans. Unfortunately we still have no news regarding the new Story Episode which will be set in a brand new area. Hopefully we’ll get more on that expansion soon.
But until then I hope all World War Z fans have fun with the new cross-play feature. I understand that some of you out there might not want this. Please let me know your thoughts on this matter. Would you like to see cross-play as an opt in or opt out option going forward? Or maybe you’d like to see party and invite features added asap so you can team up properly with your mates on another platform. Sound off in the comments below.
