PES 2019 Takes To The Pitch In August

PES 2019 has been officially announced by Konami. The game is set to take to the pitch come the 30th of August for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC via Steam. Unfortunately we have no news regarding a Switch version just yet, sorry Nintendo fans.

Philippe Coutinho will feature on the cover of this years game but the former Liverpool playmaker will not be the only football star to grace the cover as David Beckham will, not surprisingly, feature on the cover of the David Beckham Edition and also on the Legend Edition download only game.

PES 2019 will see a lot of changes coming to MyClub mode. These changes include new player cards, new legends such as, David Beckham, Maradona, Cruyff, Nedved, Gullit, Maldini and Khan. Player of the week cards will now have temporary stat boosts based on real world performances and PES League weekly matches, where you will need to keep winning to make it to the top divisions and earn special rewards.

This years PES will also see some gameplay tweaks and more skill moves added to the already impressive array at your disposal. New dipping and rising shots, no look passes, controlled chips and more, bringing the number of skill moves to about 40.

During matches players will become noticeably tired. This will cause players to slow down, miss place passes and shots. Maybe leaving tired players on for too long will see them run the risk of picking up an injury. Konami have also promised new goal celebrations and quick substitutions when the ball goes out of play.

Of course, the really sad thing about this years offering is the lack of the Champions League. This will come as a major blow to long term fans but on the upside, Konami is working hard on bringing new licensed teams and leagues to PES 2019. We might have to wait till E3 to see what they are though.
