Mass Effect: Andromeda – Delayed
Well this sucks. EA has officially announced, and reported by windows central, that its next title in the brilliant Mass Effect series is set to be delayed till early next year. Mass Effect: Andromeda was set to be released later this year and I was really hoping that it wouldn't slip and get put back. But like with so many games these days it has suffered from slippage. The Mass Effect games are some of the best games on the Xbox 360 in my opinion, the original really blew me away and it was followed up by another two cracking games that told a fantastic sci fi story that completely sucked you into it's world and made you give a crap about the characters in the game, I know the ending was a little on the weak side but the 99% of the adventure that preceded it was pure gaming gold.
Andromeda was without question the game I was most looking forward to this year, the original trilogy was set in our very own Milky Way galaxy but the story this time around will be set unsurprisingly in the Andromeda galaxy, and will introduce brand new alien races to interact with and also the promise from Bioware of greater exploration and freedom for players.
It seems the scale of Andromeda might well be the cause of the delay, in a statement released by EA and Bioware, they explain why the game is being put back till next year, they had the following to say.
As we've been playing the game at the studio recently, it's showing us that we're taking the game in the right direction. But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be – that's our commitment from all of us to all of you. Because of that, Mass Effect: Andromeda will now ship in early 2017.
Bioware have a great track record for delivering top notch titles and to be honest, I'd rather they took their time and got this right from the word go, even if it means we all have to wait a little longer to play it. Lets look on the bright side though folks, now we all have a little longer to go back and play the first 3 all over again.
