The Demo For PES 2018 Is Out Today On Consoles

Football is back after the summer break. All the major leagues have now kicked off throughout Europe and with the transfer window slamming shut tomorrow, I'm sure fans across the world will be keeping a close eye on any developments regarding their chosen club.

On the digital football front, the new season is still a few weeks away. PES 2018 is set to hit the shop shelves on the 14th of September with FIFA following a couple of weeks later. But for those of you who want to get a blast of PES before launch day, you should get downloading the demo right now. It's available on Xbox One, PS4, 360 and the PS3.

Story

This years demo will give you a choice of eleven teams to pick from. As usual, it's a mix of both club and international teams. Liverpool, Dortmund and Barca are amongst some of the clubs on offer while Brazil, Argentina and Germany make up some of the international teams. There will be two stadiums to choose from, Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park and Barca's Camp Nou.

Of course, this been PES and Konami nothing is straight forward, like last years demo, you cannot change your formation or edit the players position on the pitch. For me this is one of the best features of PES and I really can't understand why they keep excluding it from their demos. The demo will be about four to five gigs in size depending on the platform you play on. And although PES 2018 is coming to PC next month too, the demo is only available on consoles.

My Take

Look, let me be completely honest with everyone here. In my opinion, PES 2017 is the best football game ever made. I have no problems with FIFA, but where it matters, and that's on the pitch folks, FIFA comes a very distant second to PES. Sure FIFA has all the teams blah blah blah but I really don't care, what it lacks is magic and magic is what the beautiful game is all about.

I have pumped hundreds of hours into PES 2017 and I'm still finding new ways to play, new formations to try out, it just never becomes boring. It's the gift that just keeps on giving. I'm off now I'm afraid people, I have a demo to download and for the rest of my night I will be basking in the brilliance of near footballing perfection.

What do you guys think, are you going to give the demo a blast or are you waiting for FIFA to land? Please feel free to leave any football related thoughts you have in the comments below.
