eSports Boxing Club Coming Soon To Xbox One

eSports Boxing Club is a brand new boxing game coming to the Xbox One, PS4 and Steam. The game is being developed by the Sheffield based outfit Steel City Interactive. Steel City announced the game yesterday via its Twitter account.

Boxing Clever

eSports Boxing Club only went into development last year. Unfortunately, no specific release date has being given, but i’m hoping it’s sooner rather than later. Gamers have been screaming out for a new boxing title since EA seemingly abandoned the Fight Night series years ago.

Boxing Club has a host of house hold names helping out, with Paul Dempsey and Johnny Nelson doing the commentary. British boxing legends Frank Bruno, Ricky Hatton and more are also involved with the project.

You can check out the official announcement trailer in the Tweet above or the YouTube video below, but I think it’s fair to say the game is shaping up nicely and it already looks stunning. We have very little information when it comes to modes within the game or how many boxers, official or otherwise are in it. Hopefully though, we get an extensive career mode, with the option to tinker with your boxer’s stats and abilities.

This is excellent news, Fight Night Champion was released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 back in 2011. Why EA gave up on the series is beyond me, the five titles in the Fight Night series all sold well enough. Maybe EA thought there was more cash to be made from UFC games rather than boxing. Either way, if eSports Boxing Club is as polished and as fun to play as the Fight Night series, i’m pretty sure Steel City Interactive has a knock out on their hands.

Will you be picking this up when it finally comes out? What do you make of the announcement trailer? Please feel free to leave any thoughts you have in the comments below.
