UFC 2
UFC 2 is set for release on the 15/3/16 in the States and on the 17/3/16 in Europe. The game is being developed by EA Sports and builds on the original game as EA try to faithfully recreate one of the fastest growing sports in the world for us all to enjoy without actually getting punched in the face. The game's cover will feature two of the sports brightest stars in Conor McGregor and Randa Rousey.
Now EA aims to make full use of its official licence for UFC 2. The fighters will look as close to there real life counterparts as possible, the arena's will be jammed packed with detail and dripping with atmosphere. Even in the recent pre finished BETA, this game is already looking absolutely stunning.
In recreating the action inside the octagon, EA have borrowed a little bit from their Fight Night series in regards to the actual toe to toe stand up fist and kick throwing side of the game. This is by no means a bad idea, Fight Night has brilliant fighting mechanics and they work very nicely inside the octagon. You really get a great sense of the feel and weight of your punches or kicks, sometimes they will leave you wincing as they connect sweetly against your opponents face. When the action hits the floor however for me this is where a little work still needs to be done, it feels a little disjointed next to the action taking place on your feet but again this might well of being cleaned up since the BETA.

If you are thinking of picking up UFC 2 but are a little concerned that it might be a bit too over complicated in terms of controls and difficulty, don't worry because EA intends to ease players into the action by offering various tutorials and mini games to help newcomers adapt quickly and get into the action as soon as possible.
In the recent BETA, UFC 2 had a limited number of game modes on offer. Skill Challenges, which are mini games that help you get to grips with the grappling mechanics on the floor. Ultimate Team, which is very similar to the FIFA's FUT mode in that it allows you completely customise fighters and lets you enter the action online of offline to earn coins, these coins then let you buy packs, which contain goodies that you can use in game. It works very well in FIFA and I'm sure it will work a treat in UFC 2 as well. Last is Online Mode which really needs very little explanation, take on other players from around the world inside the octagon.
UFC 2 is almost here, the BETA certainly had a bug or two in it but I'm sure EA will have done everything possible to get these ironed out for the games full release. On the whole, this game is looking very promising indeed, as I said earlier, MMA is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and if EA gets this one right it may well have another massive hit on its hands.
