Pillars Of Eternity: Complete Edition Coming Soon To Xbox One

Back in September 2012 a game by the name of Project Eternity entered Kickstarter, this game by developers Obsidian went on to become one of the biggest success stories ever to grace the platform, it still ranks to this day inside the top 5 campaigns ever to be funded through Kickstarter. The game got its full release back in March 2015 on PC and its name was changed to what it is today, Pillars Of Eternity. Some people say that this party based RPG is the beat work that Obsidian has ever done, others go further than that and believe it's one of the best games ever created.

Obsidian, along with its publishing partner Paradox Interactive, Paradox are the same folks who recently published the excellent city management sim Cities: Skylines on Xbox One, are bringing their award winning RPG to both the Xbox One and PS4 in August of this year. The shop retail version of Pillars Of Eternity will be handled by 505 Games, 505 are the publishers that very recently snapped up the rights to Remedy's next game.

Obsidian are promising console owners a vast RPG experience with Pillars, I think it's fair to say that if you are a fan of Baldur's Gate or Planescape: Torment, then this will suit you down to the ground. Changes from the PC version include an enhanced UI for consoles and of course a total reworking of the controls to suit the Xbox One and PS4 joypads. These types of games work a treat on PC thanks to mouse and keyboard inputs but Obsidian are confident that they have nailed the transition to joypad and that fans have no need to worry in that regard.

Thankfully though console players will be getting the full Pillars experience, with vast character options, award winning story, stunning artwork, animation and visuals. In fact, when the game does ship on consoles, we will also be treated to the two expansion packs that have been added to Pillars since its launch, which are, The White March parts 1 and 2. This is a massive amount of content for your cash, Pillars Of Eternity alone has a solid 80 – 90 hours worth of gameplay which boasts tonnes of different story arches and various game endings.

Pillars Of Eternity is set for release on the 29th of August, check out the video below to see what all the fuss is about. Maybe you are looking forward to its release or maybe you have already experienced Pillars on PC, either way please feel free to leave any comments below.
