SoundCloud Comes To Xbox One

The music streaming and distribution platform SoundCloud have today announced that they will be launching a brand new SoundCloud App for the Xbox One. The Xbox One app coincides with the reveal of a Beta version that will be coming to both Windows PCs and tablets.

SoundCloud is based in Berlin, Germany. The company was founded in Sweden back in 2007 by Alexander Ljung and Eric Wahlforss, it has over 40 million registered users (July 2013) and employs more than 300 people. The company has an estimated value of about $700 million.

To get yourself up and running on the Xbox One you will first need to download and install the app from the marketplace. You then will have to link your current SoundCloud account to the app and activate it. The Xbox app is designed to work with both free and paid online accounts.

When you finally get everything sorted and ready to go you can enjoy all the features that you have come to love with SoundCloud with a few Xbox One features thrown in for good measure. For example, on the Xbox One you will be able skip and play songs using Cortana, you will be able to stream music in the background while you game and you can also pin your favourite playlists to Home, this will give you handy access to them whenever you need them.

SoundCloud will be the first official third party music streaming app to hit the Xbox One and its nice to see that they have by all accounts done a decent job. Time will tell of course how good or bad the app is but you can download it today and check it out for yourself. Its also good to see that SoundCloud is using some of the Xbox One features like Cortana and Pins to make things a bit simpler and console friendly.

There you have it folks, if you like your music and gaming this might be right up your street. Please feel free to leave any thoughts you might have in the comments below.
