PUBG Sells Three Million Copies In One Month On Xbox

Developed and published by PUBG Corporation, PlayerUnknown's Battleground just goes from strength to strength. PUBG released through the Game Preview program on Xbox One on the 12th of December and in the one month that it has been on sale it has managed to shift a massive three million copies. Given how poorly the game was optimised at launch, these numbers must be a huge relief to both Microsoft and Bluehole.

This news comes to us from Microsoft's head of marketing, Aaron Greenberg via Xbox Wire. Here's a snippet of what he had to say regarding these very impressive sales figures. Follow the link to check out the full article.

Today, PUBG Corp. and Xbox are excited to share that through the end of 2017 the PUBG community on Xbox One has already grown to over three million players. Thank you for your incredible support!

This is another feather in the cap for PUBG, having three million players so quickly on Xbox just adds to the unstoppable success that Brendan Greene's Battle Royale masterpiece has enjoyed since in launched through Steam's Early Access back in March 2016. PUBG only got its full release for PC on the 20th of December and it has already surpassed the 20 million player mark on that platform, setting a new record for concurrent player on Steam in the process with an amazing three million players all battling it out at the same time for chicken dinners.

The early signs on Xbox are very promising, the game can only get better and better as time goes on, as long as PUBG Corp. keep the updates coming and make sure that no matter what Xbox you are playing on, be it the One S or the One X, that the game is optimised to the max for both systems.

Of course, we still have no information regarding the full release date for PUBG on Xbox but I'd imagine it'll be sometime around late Q3 or early Q4 this year. I only say this because everyone knows that this will be heading to the PS4 when development for Xbox is finished and I think PUBG Corp. will be doing their best to have their smash hit title out for the PS4 in time for Christmas or certainly early 2019 at the latest.

What do you think folks, are you surprised by PUBG early success on Xbox One? Please feel free to leave any thoughts you might have in the comments below.
