Marvel Heroes Omega – Coming Soon To Xbox One
If you happen to be a fan of Marvel, MMO's and RPG's, then today it would seem is your lucky day because Marvel Heroes Omega has just been announced for the both the PS4 and the Xbox One. Gazillion Entertainment the development team behind the game, recently shared the news that they were bringing their free to play MMOARPG to consoles sometime in the Spring. The game was released back in June 2013 for the PC under the name Marvel Heroes, the name was then changed to Marvel Heroes 15 sometime later and it got another name change last year to Marvel Heroes 16. The console version will drop the number at the end for Omega but thankfully, regardless of the name, it will be still free to play.
The game will come packed with your favourite Marvel Super Heroes, there will be 38 in total to choose from including Iron Man, Captain America, Spiderman and Wolverine just to name a few. There will also be hundreds of costumes to collect, this game is micro transaction heavy, so most items in game can be bought with real world money too.
Marvel Heroes Omega will also boost a healthy amount of different play modes, including, Campaign Missions 1-9, classic story mode where you are tasked with taking down the evil Doctor Doom and the crazy god Loki, Operations, team up with your mates to take out the villains and their henchmen, Midtown Patrol, defend midtown Manhattan against an onslaught of villains, Danger Room, step inside the X-Men training simulator to get the chance to play randomised missions and bosses, Legendary Missions, finish the campaign to unlock these missions which in turn allow you to buy legendary items, Heroic, Super Heroic and Cosmic Trials, in order to get the best stuff you need to be able to take on the hardest challenges, these trials will prepare you for those tests.
It's important to point out at this stage that the console versions of Marvel Heroes Omega will contain less content than it's PC counterpart. This is due to the small size of the dev team Gazillion, their thinking behind the move is to ensure that the transition from PC to console goes as smoothly as possible but they have also promised that they will be adding more content to the console versions over time. Unfortunately the game will not be cross platform with PC, it may happen down the road but it certainly won't be available at launch.
If you are planning on buying this for the Xbox One I'm afraid I have more bad news. Yet again, due to the small size of Gazillion, they will be focusing on the PS4 version first. The PS4 will receive an open Beta as well as getting the game before the Xbox One. This is shit news if you are really looking forward to playing it on the One but at least Gazillion will have gotten rid of the bugs and fixed any of the major problems with the port before it arrives into the hands of Xbox players. They are a small team and I think taking it one platform at a time is probably the best thing to do in the long run.
What do you folks think, will you be picking it up for the Xbox One, are you a fan of Marvel, please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below.
