Xbox One Slim

Just a day before E3 kicks off and it looks like the highly rumoured slim version of the Xbox One has being leaked.  Microsoft doesn't seem to be too bothered by the leak and I'm pretty sure they will be showing it off to the world at it's press conference later today.

The leak which arrived via a user on NeoGAF, shows of a picture (which you see above) of a much smaller looking Xbox One and a slightly streamlined joypad.  The leak also confirmed that the new slim console will ship with a massive 2 TB worth of storage space for games and Apps, this is a huge leap over the launch console which only came with 500 gigs of storage.

It is also believed that the new machine will support 4K media output, I'd imagine this is just for video and not games.  The new Xbox Box Slim is rumoured to be 40% smaller than the current model, which basically means its about the same size as the PS4.  The controller to looks to be a little smaller, but hopefully not to much because in my opinion it is just about perfect the way it is.  The most important aspect of this new machine will of course be the price, the leak does go on to say that the price will be $299 so we will see how that pans out.

Hopefully at their press conference later we will actually get to see the real breakdown of the specs, apart from a bigger hard drive and 4K video support I really don't think they will have changed much under the hood.  I'm pretty sure we will get a release date later today and we'll discover the actual price point of the new machine to.

It also looks like there will be no unveiling of the rumoured Xbox Scorpio, the machine that will spearhead Microsoft's VR ambitions, the machine that is powerful enough to run the Oculus Rift.  Considering that Sony has already pulled it's PS4 NEO from the show, it seems very unlikely that Microsoft would show all their cards up front and instead focus on new games and the new Xbox One Slim. Not long to wait now people, the show kicks off later today.
